Edit Action page
The Action page creates engaging elements in your exercise with simulated calls and SMS. You can define the contents of the call and SMS and who will receive this. Also can you decide if the call and SMS show just within the browser (virtual) or if the participants receive an actual call or SMS.
Recommended is to create only 1 action per page if this goes to all participants, as all actions will happen simultaneously.
Heading
This is showing on screen during the exercise session. The logic actions towards participants in the session are not directly showing on screen.
Notes
These are showing only to the presenter to assist during the session. Describe here for yourself the logic actions that are taking place.
Illustration
Use an image on the page showing to the participants, either as the background or side by side with text.
Logic actions
There are two actions to choose from: SMS and call, and each can be limited to number of participants as well as type of role.
Receiver count
Limit the number of recipients of this call/SMS. PrepJam randomly chooses participants. If no number is included here, ALL participants will receive the call or SMS.
Receiver roles
Define a specific group of recipients for the logic action. There are roles pre-defined, but the field allows you to create your own receiver roles. Start typing the role and hit enter to save the role. Like this you can send a different message to participants with different roles in the exercise.
If the exercise allows for participants to select their role, the selection to participants will include only roles used in the scenario. It is also possible for the presenter to assign roles to participants themselves once they join the session. (read more here: https://prepjam.com/knowledge-base/exercises-how-to-start-a-session)
SMS
In the box Actions select SMS. Include number of receivers and roles if desired, but these can be adjusted at a later stage as well.
Click 'Create action'
The page opens where to add both sender (either a phone number or name) as well as the text for the SMS. It is possible to include variables in the message to make it more targeted. Note that not all variables are always working fine, since some depend on information provided by participants.
Click 'Save contents'
Call
In the box Actions select Call. Include number of receivers and roles if desired, but these can be adjusted at a later stage as well.
Click 'Create action'
The page opens to include the callers message.
Select the phone number that is used for simulating the call. The phone number is not adjustable.
Select the Caller language. This enables to write a message in various languages and ensure the pronunciation matches your text.
Include the text of the call message and click 'Save contents'. It is possible to include variables in the message to make it more targeted. Note that not all variables are always working fine, since some depend on information provided by participants.
After saving your message another option opens: uploading an MP3 audio file. This is to be used if you do not want your message to be read out by an automated voice. An uploaded audio file always overwrites the written Call message. Note that in an audio file it is not possible to use variables.
Click 'Save contents' before leaving this page.
